September/ October 2026 6 Weeks Wheel Throwing Beginner / improvers Course

6 weeks Ceramic Wheel courses for Beginners but suitable for improvers who had a beginner course before.

preferably you have had at least a taster class , so you can make the most of the course but suitable for full beginners.

Courses are available in the evening  8students maximum per class will make the course intense, personal and tailored to your skills.

Up to 8 wheels will be available so everyone has their own . 

Sunday evenings September 6th/13th/20th/27th and October 4th and 11th

 2 hours per session for making and 30 minutes for cleaning 

5:30pm-8pm

Week 1 - All the basics of wedging and throwing shapes on the wheel and the focus will be in centering the clay and pulling walls- 2hours on the pottery wheel + cleaning at the end of the class 

Week 2- throwing on the pottery wheel bowl like shapes + cleaning at the end of the class

Week 3 - Throwing larger amounts of clay , perfecting cylinders 

Week 4 & 5- throwing more pieces on the wheel and Learning to trim your pieces on the wheel, learning how to make and attach handles to your pieces + attachment of handles , carving your pieces .

Week 6- In the final week you will learn how to glaze your pieces , with an option of dip glazes, brush on glazed or painting your pottery with underglazes, creative freedom will be encouraged . 10 of your best pieces !

You can book extra practice time for £10 per hour for studio access in between sessions.

Your pieces will be ready to collect 2-3 weeks after course finishes.

Due to the courses set dates and times , cancellation of a class can’t be rescheduled.
