1. Bookings & Payments
• All classes, courses, and memberships must be booked and paid for through our website only.
• We do not accept cash, bank transfers, or in-person payments.
• Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
• Gift vouchers can be used as full or part payment at checkout on our website.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
• Cancellations made with 14 days’ notice or more are eligible for a refund, minus a £10 admin fee.
• Cancellations made within 14 days but more than 7 days before the class may be rescheduled at our discretion, but are not eligible for a refund.
• Cancellations with less than 7 days’ notice, or no-shows on the day, are non-refundable and non-transferable.
• We aim to be understanding in the case of emergencies, but please note we are a small studio with limited spaces, so last-minute changes impact us significantly.
3. Studio Memberships
• Memberships are available by application and may be subject to waiting lists.
• Members must adhere to health & safety policies and respect other users of the space.
• Memberships are non-transferable and may be paused or cancelled with 30 days’ notice.
• We reserve the right to revoke membership if terms are breached.
4. Health & Safety
• All participants must follow tutor instructions and studio rules at all times.
• Long hair must be tied back, and closed-toe shoes must be worn.
• Fingernails must be kept short to ensure safety and proper technique on the pottery wheel.
• Clay dust contains silica, which can be harmful if inhaled. We use wet-cleaning methods to reduce dust, and dry sanding or sweeping is not permitted.
• Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling clay. Do not eat or drink while working.
• Kilns can reach extremely high temperatures and must never be touched. Only trained staff are permitted to operate or access kiln areas.
• Please inform staff of any allergies or medical conditions before participating.
5. Collection of Work
• Finished pieces must be collected within 6 weeks of notification.
• After this time, uncollected work may be disposed of to make space in the studio.
• We do our best to handle your work with care, but due to the unpredictable nature of ceramics and firing, we cannot guarantee the outcome of each piece.
6. Children & Under-18s
• Children are not permitted in the studio at any time, including during classes, drop-ins, or collections.
• We do not currently offer classes or sessions for anyone under the age of 18.
7. Photography & Social Media
• We occasionally take photos during classes for social media and promotional purposes.
• If you’d prefer not to be photographed, please let us know at the start of your session.
• We love to see your creations—feel free to tag us @newdawnpottery.
8. Refunds & Gift Cards
• Refunds are processed to the original payment method and may take up to 10 working days.
• Gift cards are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and are non-refundable.
9. Data Protection
• Your personal information is kept secure and used only for booking and studio-related communication.
• We will never share your data with third parties.
10. Studio Etiquette & Conduct
• Please arrive on time. Late arrivals may not be able to join the class and will not be refunded.
• Be respectful to tutors, staff, and fellow participants at all times.
• Mobile phones should be silenced during class.
• Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the session or cancellation of membership without refund.
11. Damages & Liability
• New Dawn Pottery Ltd is not liable for personal belongings lost, damaged, or left in the studio.
• Participants are responsible for any damage caused to studio equipment due to misuse.
• While we do our best to care for your work throughout the making, drying, and firing process, ceramics can be unpredictable. We cannot be held responsible for pieces that break, crack, or are damaged during firing or drying.
• In the event of damage caused during studio processing, New Dawn Pottery Ltd will offer a pre-made compensation pot of similar size as a goodwill gesture.
12. Accessibility
• We welcome participants of all abilities. However, please be aware the studio may have physical access limitations.
• Contact us in advance with any specific access needs and we will do our best to accommodate you.
